How to Choose Waterbed Sheets

You can use regular sheets on your waterbed, but if you have ever tried to do that, you have probably realized that they aren’t ideal. Standard sheets tend to slide off a waterbed, often leading to a poor night’s sleep. The internet has become an invaluable waterbed sheets finder and source of valuable information to help you find the best accessories for your waterbed.

Waterbed sheets can be easily purchased online, or at bigger department stores, which has the advantage since you can feel the material before you buy it. Outlet stores are also a good source for sheets for your waterbed; they may have a slight defect or perhaps be part of a discontinued line but all in all they will do the job and save you quite a bit of money.

Just like regular bed sheets, waterbed sheets are easily available in several different types of material, the most common being cotton, flannel and satin. Cotton is a durable and versatile option and is available with different thread counts – the higher the count, the smoother the sheet will feel. Satin is more luxurious, while flannel is better able to keep you warm.

Again, just like regular sheets, sheets for a waterbed are available in all the standard sizes – king, queen and single – as well as an overwhelming choice of styles, colors and patterns. As they can perhaps be more difficult to find than ordinary bedding, it’s also a good idea to keep some spare sheets around.

One of your most important concerns will be making sure that the sheets stay on the bed and a good set of quality waterbed sheets should be able to pass the test. Try to choose sheets that come with a reinforced elastic band on each corner, which attaches the sheet firmly to the mattress and helps prevent sheets from sliding off.

If you have a waterbed, you probably appreciate the comfortable night’s sleep that it can provide. Just don’t overlook the sheets, which are just as important.
