If you’re trying to keep heat in your rooms during the winter months and you’re losing the battle the culprit is probably your window.  Windows are the largest source of heat loss in most homes especially older ones.   Regular curtains will not provide nearly enough insulation from the cold outside during winter months and the heat during the summer.  Thermal curtains are excellent insulators of both and has an R-value of up to 7 times higher than other curtains.

R-value is the measure of resistance to heat flow that a curtain provides.  Generally speaking, the higher the R-value the greater the resistance to heat.  Thermal curtains compared to other heat saving devices provide the most bang for your buck.

Having trouble getting those kids to go to sleep during those scorning hot summer months?  Rather than beating your kids who are complaining its too hot to sleep why not hang up a pair of kids thermal curtains?  Keep the curtains closed during the day and watch your kids sleep like little babies.

One major drawback with thermal curtains is there are not a variety of choices in design and colors.  If your trying to match the décor in a room then consider making your own or having them specially made for you.

Thermal curtains do not make a hot room cold.  It will only help lower the current temperature that is already in the room.  In the winter months these curtains do just the opposite by helping to keep heat in the room.  As you can see they are quite versatile and can be used year round.

During the winter months you don’t even have to close the window and you can allow any little sunshine  there is to make its way into the room.  Then as night falls close the curtains like you normally would and the thermal backing will trap the heat and keep it in the room some not found with ordinary curtains.
